Now what is wrong with this?
NKOTB 2008 |
Hell, they are not boys anymore. They are old now and seeing them perform their hits on the TV teaser is kinda painful. They were famous during the 90's and this era is kind of memorable to me because this was the age of alternative rock. The 90's saw the birth of great Filipino seminal bands like Eraserheads, Yano, the Youth etc. also the divide or the rivalry between metal and hiphop was kinda strong. So, their music was treated with contempt for they were pop and commercial (as opposed to the alternative-grunge-indie music of the era). Also, they took advantage of the young girls and gays hormonal imbalance.
These boy bands were considered corny and childish or girlish and no rocker was ever expected to listen to them. Now they are coming here to...weird. Of course, the rivalry between the hiphop and the metals are gone and all the nonsense... guess we all grew old, matured, and became men and women. Still they call themselves boys?

They should rename their band: Old Kids on the Block and Backstreetmen. Anyway, hope to see them in 2080.

I'm sorry but criticizing Backstreet and New Kids for maintaining their original names despite their ages seems a bit silly. The Oak Ridge Boys always WERE men throughout their career and no one harassed them. How about the Beach Boys, the Pet Shop Boys to name a few. I get you don't care for their music, but it would show more maturity on your part to simply absent yourself from any discussion about them, then to nitpick at them by condemning their names. The NKOTBSB was one heck of a show-one of the best concerts I've been to, including all the rock artists I've seen since the 60s. How's that?
guess your right about the name but your wrong about the music. The beach boys, pet shop boys, oakridge boys etc. wrote their music, play their instruments and and they were never considered "boy" bands. anyway....peace.
